The Naga Viper is a modern and notorious creation from the UK, developed by Gerald Fowler. What makes it unique is its origin: it is an unstable hybrid that combines the genetics of three of the world's spiciest peppers: Naga Morich, Bhut Jolokia, and Trinidad Scorpion.
For a brief period in 2011, it held the Guinness World Record for the "World's Hottest Pepper."
Naga Viper is firmly in the "Nuclear" category, with a certified peak of 1,382,118 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Its burn is described as gradual, building slowly before hitting its infernal peak at the back of the throat.
The fruits are elongated and wrinkled, turning intense red when ripe. Despite its extreme heat, it offers a prominent fruity and sweet flavor, making it excellent for ultra-spicy sauces and powders where maximum heat is desired without compromising taste.
Handle with gloves and extreme caution, as with all Nuclear category peppers.
