Carolina Reaper is a hybrid pepper of the Capsicum Chinense species, originally called "HP22B", it was created by grower Ed Currie, who runs the Pucker Butt Pepper Co. in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The Carolina Reaper was classified as the hottest pepper in the world by Guinness World Records according to 2013 tests, averaging 1.569.3 billion SHU (Scoville scale), with peak levels of more than 2.200 billion SHU.
The Carolina Reaper known as HP22B is beautiful, with a bright red rough surface and a long stinger tail.
But don't be fooled! This pepper has its name for a reason.
If you are brave enough to eat this whole pepper, NO JOKE !, be very, very careful when using this pepper. Those who don't fear Reaper are fools! Only those who are used to the nuclear ones can handle it (and there are few).
